Day: 8am - 12noon , Sat

Night: 7:00p - 10:00p, Tue & Thu

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program is designed  to educate individuals who, by nature of their vocation or  avocation, are likely to respond to pre-hospital  emergencies. The program includes didactic presentation,  skill demonstration, hands-on practical skill workshops,  and practical experience provided by the partnering  hospital and Pennsylvania State Certified EMT instructor  team. Upon successful completion, the student will be  Pennsylvania DOH certified. Minimum age is 16. Text can  be purchased on the first day of class. Section 11 will  meet at the Emergency Medicine Institute, 2166 S. 12th  Street, Allentown. There will be a few Saturdays 8 a.m. to  noon for the evening classes.

Northampton Area Community College

Summer:

05/19/09-08/22/09 Sat 9:00 AM-3:00 PM

05/19/09-08/22/09 Tue & Thu, 7:00pm - 10:00pm

Skills oriented course, involving extensive hands-on training in the evaluation and treatment of the sick and injured; fundamental training required for emergency services medical personnel; CPR, preparatory, airway, patient assessment, traumatic injuries, fractures, thoracic injuries, patient immobilization and lifting. Students will be required to carry and maintain accident and health insurance and/or workman's compensation and sign a waiver of liability. Formerly EMGS 107+108. May not be taken for credit after completing these courses.
