1543 is a 4wd All-Terrain vehicle equipped to support both EMS and Fire operations in hard to reach areas. It has been used to support community events like bike races, 5K & 15K running races, and walk-a-thons as an EMS unit that can easily traverse the entire course. It has also been used during brush fires to transport fire equipment. A tank that can rapidly be installed to support brush fire supression has recently been placed into service.
