Tractor-trailer overturns on Route 22 exit to Airport Road

Rescue crews spent 20 minutes freeing a truck driver from the cab of a tractor-trailer that overturned on a concrete barrier in Allentown Monday morning.

The accident happened around 2 a.m. when the truck, which had been traveling west on Route 22, exited onto Airport Road south. The truck overturned on the ramp, which was closed for about three hours.

The accident happened around 2 a.m. State police at Bethlehem are investigating, but details of the accident have not yet been released.

Han-Le-Co and Hanover Township fire departments responded with state police. A unit from Northampton Emergency Medical Services transported the driver to a local hospital.
