The Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Company #1
(HTVFC) is the Fire and EMS provider for Hanover Township,
Northampton County. This community of approximately 10,000 residents,
businesses, industrial parks, business centers, covers 6.79 sq.
miles, and is located just north of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
HTVFC is financially supported through support
from the citizens of Hanover Township through their taxes, and
several fund-raisers (annual fund drive & “Santa Day”)
sponsored throughout the year.
HTVFC is comprised of three different services
that operate and respond from our main station (Northampton County,
Station 15) located at 100 Stoke Park Road. Each year HTVFC responds
to more that 350 fire calls, and more than 850 EMS calls. Without our
volunteer members, we would be unable to provide these services.
Each of the services: Fire, EMS (Emergency Medical
Services), and Fire Police are vital in assuring that emergencies
within Hanover Township are handled in a safe, effective, and
professional manner.
Many of our members are cross-trained and
volunteer for more than one service. We believe that incorporating
all three services in one agency is a significant strength. Combined
training assures that we have a working knowledge of each service's
tasks during a particular type of incident. By practicing in a
controlled environment, we strengthen both the skills required within
each service, and our incident management skills. Many of the incidents
to which we respond require multiple services. Fire Police and EMS
respond on all Fire dispatches, EMS frequently requests assistance
from the Fire service.
The commitment of our volunteer members is our
greatest strength.
